Panasonic Avionics, a global leader in in-flight entertainment, was facing mounting penalties and reputational risk from faulty handset components supplied by an underperforming manufacturer. Quality escapes and delivery delays were taking aircraft out of service, driving millions in penalties, and putting airline relationships—and passenger trust—on the line.

SOLUTION

Morey’s engineering and manufacturing teams launched a full design-for-manufacturability and testability review—scrubbing the bill of materials, tightening tolerances, revising drawings, and resetting expectations across the global supplier network.

Leveraging our FAA/EASA-certified repair station and deep root-cause analysis expertise, we redesigned and requalified the product line, implemented robust test coverage, and put new quality gates in place to prevent issues before they reached the aircraft.

OUTCOME

The program achieved a zero-defect, on-time delivery record that eliminated more than $10 million in penalties, restored confidence in Panasonic’s in-flight experience, and earned Morey “Supplier of the Year” honors—twice.
